OXFORDSHIRE recorded their first win in nine outings this season when they beat Devon by 51 runs in their rain-affected Unicorns Counties Championship clash at Exeter.
To make up for lost time, after a second-day washout and a further 100 minutes had been lost on the final day, Devon declared 139 behind on first innings.
Oxon then thrashed some friendly bowling for 142-2 off 10 overs, Hugo Darby making 77 from 40 balls with four sixes and ten fours.
The declaration left Devon a target of 282 in a minimum of 68 overs.
Thanks to some sharp catching, wickets fell steadily, with Chad Keegan, Will Rooney and spinner Harvey Eltham each picking up three.
Devon’s last pair added 31 in seven overs to frustrate the visitors, before Rooney claimed the final wicket with more than 17 overs left.
