ALEXANDER Gray scored 90 on his Charlbury debut to help his side to a resounding 201-run victory at Yarnton & Cowley in Division 1 of the OCA League.

Gray’s knock, plus 66 from Ashley Rump, helped Charlbury to 261 all out.

Yarnton were never in the hunt as three wickets apiece for Stuart Atkins (3-2), Hasula Premtilaka (3-11) and Ollie Hollings (3-26) helped to skittle the hosts out for just 60.

Last year’s runners-up, Minster Lovell, saw off hosts Great Horwood by 32 runs.

Dave Prosper hit 38 in Minster’s 165 all out, Haydon Morrison taking 4-41 for Horwood.

Ed Dunn then claimed 4-38 and Jack Simpson 3-42 as Horwood were bowled out for 133.

Chipping Norton edged out visitors Oxenford by one wicket in the final over of a rain-affected match.

Zain Iqbal’s 55 helped Oxenford to 177-3 in a reduced 37 overs. But Richard Ferley (73) was the mainstay in Chippy’s reply as they crept over the line at 178-9.

The Target Score (TS) method was needed to decide the match at Stonesfield, where Faringdon ran out five-wicket victors.

Stonesfield were 139-3 when the rain came after 34 overs. Chasing a revised target of 125 off 29 overs, Faringdon reached 125-5.

In Division 2, hosts Chadlington lost to Clifton Hampden by 14 runs on the Target Score (TS) method.

Clifton set 190-9 as Richard Beard hit 56 and David Pimm 54 not out. After a rain delay, Chadlington were set a revised target of 145 for victory in 30 overs, but managed only 130-7.

Fringford defeated visitors Stanton Harcourt by 51 runs in Division 3.

Youngster Thomas Bacon top-scored with 32 in Fringford’s 160-9, before Ian Hedley claimed 4-26 as Stanton were bowled out for 109.

Tetsworth edged past visitors Kilkenny by two wickets.

Darren Gordon’s 67 was the main contribution in Kilkenny’s 137-9, but Salish Babu hit 44 in reply as Tetsworth reached 140-8.

In Division 4, Swinbrook lost by three runs in a thriller at Uffington.

Uffington posted 139 as Stuart Bullen took 5-24 for the visitors.

But 5-24 from Justin Lelliott and 3-20 from Peter Jones ensured that Swinbrook were bowled out for 136.

Edd Howlett (54no) led Watlington to a two-wicket win at West Ilsley.

The home side were restricted to 136-8, thanks largely to 4-21 from Owen Lewis, before Howlett led Watlington to victory.

Bampton won by seven wickets on the TS method against visitors Britwell Salome in Division 5.

After bowling Britwell out for 57, their revised target after a rain delay was just 38, and they eased to 40-3.

Chipping Norton 2nd lost b 16 runs at home to Kennington, who crawled to 131 all out as Andrew Tompkins took 4-25.

But, helped by Misha Brazier-Tope (3-31), Kennington dismissed Chippy for115 in reply.

Saurabh Mehortra claimed 6-19 to help West Witney to a crushing nine-wicket win at home to Great Horwood 2nd inDivision 5.

Horwood were shot out for 92, before Jim Watkins hit 44 not out to steer West to 96-1.

Kilkenny scored 178-5 against Wootton & Boars Hill 2nd, Daniel Floyd hitting 80 not out and Gary Doggett 80.

After a rain delay, the revised TS target was set at 152, and Mark Taylor (65no) and Omar Hussain (54no) saw Wootton to victory.

Ducklington beat hosts Combe by 23 runs in Division 7.

Jacob Hughes top-scored with 62 in Ducklington’s 166-7, before Steve Townsend claimed 4-11 as Combe were bowled out for 143 in reply.

Martyn Oliver’s 5-7 helped to skittle visitors Uffington 2nd for 31 as Hanborough 2nd cruised to a ten-wicket win.

Chadlington had no answer to Scott Hambridge’s brilliant haul of 6-17 which helped Stanton Harcourt 2nd to a 95-run win in Division 8.

Earlier, Charlie Waite had hit 76 not out in Stanton’s 210 all out, and then Chadlington fell to 115 all out, despite Glenn McCallum’s 55 not out.

In Division 9, Charlbury duo Ellie Norton and Vicky Strode help them to a 58-run win against Kennington 2nd.

Charlbury set 169-8, a target that was revised to 147 after rain.

But Strode (4-21) and Norton (4-22) bowled superbly in tandem to bowl Kennington out for 89.

Swinbrook 2nd saw off visitors Hanney by 109 runs.

David Martin (40) and Ryan Dadge (39) helped Swinbrook to 178 all out, before Dadge claimed 4-18 and Mark Reed 4-24 to dismiss Hanney for just 69 in reply.

A thrilling Division 6 game at Faringdon 2nd ended in a tie.

Visitors Steventon were bowled out for just 108, with Alex Robinshaw taking 6-33 and Alan Johnson 3-3.

After a downpour, the Target Score method saw a revised target of 75 in 26 overs, but Faringdon could manage only 75-1 for a tie.

Kidlington 2nd saw off Radley 2nd by three wickets.

Waseem Azad took 5-19 and Ajay Behal 4-43 to help dismiss Radley for 154.

Sahil Kalyan then hit 55 not out to see the hosts to 155-7.

Martyn Oliver’s 5-7 skittled visitors Uffington 2nd for 31 as Hanborough 2nd cruised to a ten-wicket win in Division 7.

Deepak Patel returned superb figures of 7-22 to help Marcham 2nd to an 87-run success at Risinghurst 2nd.

Chris Webb (31) was the top score in Marcham’s 137-9, Santha Thirupathi taking 5-19.

Patel then took his magnificent seven to dismiss the hosts for just 50.
