SKIPPER Charlie Brain is looking for Shipton-under-Wychwood to continue their love affair with the Village Cup when they host Oxford Downs in the Oxfordshire final on Sunday.
The two-time winners are renowned for their exploits in the competition, and Barrett is hoping this year will prove no different.
“It always seems to lift the club,” he said.
“A lot of people know us because of it and we are keen to try and get as far as possible once again.
“Hopefully with home advantage and being two divisions higher than Downs we can prove too strong.
“But we are also wary they have two or three players who are capable of winning the match on their own, so will not underestimate them.”
Veteran trio Steve Bates, Ian Lewis and Jason Hunt all come in.
Oxford Downs skipper Wasim Mehmood commented: “We have started the season really well and confidence is high. I believe we can win this match.”
Shipton: A Hemming, Wood, Perkin, Bates, C Miller, Lewis, Seacole, Cross, Hunt, Brain, S Miller.
Oxford Downs: Mehmood, Crouch, Watts, Elwood, Rafiq, Costly, Ling, Rivett, Florey, Daniel, Meardon.
