OXFORDSHIRE’S women bounced back in style with a 63-run victory at Cornwall.
The county suffered their first loss of the ECB Women’s County Championship Division 3 Group B campaign at Gloucestershire.
But they made a successful long trip south to get their season back on track.
Oxon made a positive start after being asked to bat at Mount Kelly College, Tavistock, Genny Porter (53) and Ellie Noble (37) starring.
Ellie Ingram then hit 35 to help Oxfordshire post 184-9 from their 50 overs.
Cornwall opener Caitlin Burnett (31) was the only batter to frustrate the Oxfordshire bowlers, who took wickets regularly.
Harriet Batchelor (3-15), Rachael Potter (2-12) and Charlotte Noble (2-16) were the pick, as Cornwall finished on 121-9.
Against Gloucestershire, Noble was again on song, taking 5-31 as the hosts posted 171-9 off their 50 overs at Moreton-in-Marsh.
Oxon lost early wickets, and although Sam Moore (22) and Abi Currie (19) dug in, Oxon managed only 111, Gloucestershire’s Charlie Phillips taking an impressive 5-22.

Oxon set 81-4 off 25 overs, but just failed to bowl out their rivals, despite the efforts of Lucy Johnson (2-5) and Ellie Simpson (2-13).
