FOOTBALL: Meade on course to make Didcot debut

Didcot Town are set to give a debut to new signing Joel Meade when they travel to Shortwood United in the Southern League’s Red Insure Cup third round tonight.

The centre half, who signed from Banbury United on Friday, is joined in the side by keeper Mauro Pereira.

He takes over from Marcos Bellolli-Pereira, who is struggling with an ankle injury.

Taylor Janes is added to a squad missing defender Josh Webb, who has returned to Reading after his loan spell expired.

Pablo Haysham faces a late test on a groin injury.

North Leigh boss Mark Gee is backing John Mills to rediscover his goalscoring form when they host Cinderford Town.

Mills netted 21 goals in the first half of the season, but has not scored for 11 games.

However, Gee said: “You don’t become a bad player overnight. Every striker goes through these spells. He just needs to get his confidence back.”

Mills is joined in the squad by Toby Clark, Michael Alexis, Ryan Brooks and Zak Westlake as Gee looks to freshen up his team.
