Goalkeeper Harry Jenkins saved four spot-kicks in a penalty shoot-out to send Headington Amateurs into the quarter finals of the Uhlsport Hellenic League's Bluefin Sports Supplementary Cup.
Following a 1-1 draw after extra time in their third round tie at home to Lydney Town, Headington won the shoot-out 2-1.
Lydney had taken a 42nd-minute lead with a goal from the evergreen Matt Kimmins.
After 65 minutes, Luke Cuff equalised when he collected from Shaun Jacob, outpaced the visitors defence and shot home.
Extra-time could not settle the tie, so it went to a penalty shoot-out.
Jay Hill and Tom Payne were successful for Headington, but it was Jenkins, after missing one himself, who secured the win with those four saves.
Wantage Town reignited their Premier Division promotion challenge with a 4-1 victory away to lowly Kidlington.
The visitors won the game with three first-half goals.
The first came after nine minutes when Tom Butler finished off a fine move involving Jack Daley and Richie Claydon.
Claydon made it 2-0 in the 28th minute after good work by John Mcmahon and Daley.
Stuart Cattel added Wantage’s third. Kidlington pulled back a goal early in the second half, Ryan Curtin firing home from the penalty spot after he was adjudged to have been fouled by Christian Perkins.
Any thoughts of a Kidlington revivial were doused when Daley scored Wantage’s fourth.
Ardley United won 5-3 against Holyport with Steve Howkins (2), Troy Brown, Callum Convey and Joe Eyre all scoring.
Thame United remain in contention following a 5-0 win at bottom club Shrivenham. Nik Rhodes, Niall Hodgkins, Gavin Way, Ben Johnson and Matt Hall were on target.
Oxford City Nomads won2-0 at home to Abingdon Town with goals from Adam Lovegrove and Andrew Styles.
