Banbury United manager Edwin Stein is confident he will be able to hand a debut to Northampton Town loanee Claudio Dias for tomorrow’s visit of Weymouth in the Calor League Premier Division.

Dias is set to become the second player on loan from the Cobblers, after goalkeeper Dean Snedker signed earlier this week, providing all the paperwork goes through without a hitch.

“He’s only 19 and can play as a striker or a winger,” said Stein. “I used to coach him when he was a lad and he’s a very talented player.”

Dias could come straight into the team as Stein looks to make changes after being unimpressed by Tuesday’s disappointing 2-1 defeat at Arlesey Town.

“The team have put in four or five below-par performances and I’ve had enough of that,” he added.

“I’ve always been a manager who’s given people opportunities and nine times out of ten they’ve proven to be reasonable players and done us proud.

“I think perhaps we need to go back to that so I will be giving some other people a chance this weekend.”

The Puritans are without defender Wayne Blossom, who faces a four-game suspension.
