BANBURY United cast aside their relegation worries by coming from 4-2 down to beat Biggleswade 6-4 at Spencer Stadium last night.

Their win, plus results elsewhere, means they will stay in the Calor League Premier Division next season.

Banbury went ahead through a Max York own goal, but he soon equalised and further goals followed for the visitors from Brett Donnelly, John Wolf and Lee Allinson.

Anderson Pinto pulled one back to make it 4-2 at the break.

It was all Banbury in the second half as goals from Kynan Isaac (2), Claudio Dias and Albi Skendi sealed the win, while new keeper Hafed Al-Droubui saved a penalty.

North Leigh kept alive their outside chances of reaching the Division 1 South & West play-offs with a 3-1 win over Fleet at Eynsham Park.

After a dour first half, Conor McDonagh put the home side ahead after Mark Bell’s shot was saved, and it was roles reversed for No 2 when Bell tapped in McDonagh’s cross.

Kieran Sanders scored the goal of the game in the 75th minute with an 18-yard piledriver, before Simba Mlambo netted late on.
