Banbury conceded a goal in the first minute as they lost 5-1 at home to play-off chasing St Albans in the Calor League Premier Division on Saturday.

Home keeper Scott Dutton saved John Frendo’s effort, but the ball rebounded to Steve Wales who scored.

The hosts equalised in the 26th minute when a corner from the right, taken by Marvin Martin, was headed home by Luke Fathers from 12 yards.

However, two goals in the space of four minutes from Frendo put St Albans firmly back in command by the interval Five minutes into the second half, Lee Chappell dinked the ball over Dutton from five yards to make it 4-1.

Saints’ Paul Bastock forced home defender Luke Cray to make a great clearance.

But within 30 seconds it was 5-1 as James Comley lobbed Dutton from the edge of the penalty area to complete the scoring.
