Didcot twice had to come from behind to secure an entertaining 2-2 draw in their Southern League Division 1 South & West clash against Mangotsfield at the Draycott Engineering Loop Meadow Stadium.

Mangotsfield took a deserved lead on the half-hour when Mitchell Page’s shot was parried by home keeper James Foster to the feet of Lewis Powell who finished into an empty net.

The visitors, who were on top, should have doubled the lead, but Page missed his header.

Didcot equalised in the 61st minute when Matt Clark put through John Mills, who curled his shot past Josh Dempsey for his tenth league goal of the season.

Nine minutes later, Mangotsfield regained the lead. Lewis Powell got the better of Sam Elkins and his shot was deflected to substitute Reeko Best, who tapped in.

That lead only lasted two minutes as Pablo Haysham ran through the Mangotsfield defence and fired home for his first goal of the campaign.

Best could have given the visitors the win, but his shot whistled past a post.

Didcot Tn: Foster, Elkins, Organ, Self, Carnell, Learoyd, Dutton-Black (Clark 45), McKirnan, Mills, Haysham, Longford. Subs not used: Baines, Janes, Heapy.

Attendance: 153.
