Oxford City have bolstered their squad with two new faces ahead of their trip to high-flying Boston United in Vanarama Conference North tonight, writes MATTHEW BRUCE.

Winger Kynan Isaac has joined on a three-month loan from Luton Town and Claudio Hoban, another winger, has also signed from Conference South outfit Sutton United.

Isaac had appeared set to rejoin City for a second spell this summer after impressing at Banbury United, but was offered professional terms at the Sky Bet League Two side last month.

“We’ve been keeping close tabs on him since he joined Luton,” said general manager Justin Merritt.

“Obviously he was going to be part of our squad during the summer, but he got the chance to go to Luton and we’ve kept in touch since then.

“Luton want him to get some competitive football and we were obviously first choice as he still lives in Oxford.”

The new additions should provide a boost to a squad still hurting from Saturday’s humiliating 8-1 defeat at home to AFC Fylde.

“Saturday was obviously very disappointing and we’re embarrassed, but the beauty of football is that there’s always another game soon after,” Merrit added.

“There should be over 1,000 people at Boston under the lights, it’ll be a great atmosphere and occasion and there’s no better way to get such a poor result out of our system than to get out on the pitch and show what we can do. “
