Banbury United will be without defender Joel Meade for the trip to Hungerford Town in the Southern League Premier Division tonight, writes MATTHEW BRUCE.

Meade, who signed for the club from Didcot Town during the summer, fractured his fifth metatarsal in his right foot during the Puritans’ 2-1 win against Dorchester Town on Saturday and is expected to be out for several weeks.

However, he could be replaced in the side by fellow centre back Tom Ryan, who is returning from injury.

Wantage Town have been dealt a blow with the recall of on-loan Swindon Town duo Matt Jones and Curtis Da Costa by their parent club ahead of their Division 1 South & West match at Stratford Town.

Boss Gary Ackling admitted it would be tough to replace the pair at such short notice.

He said: “We’re looking to bring players in, but it’s hard because we’ve not got a big budget.”

Stuart Cattell and Jake Johns return from suspension, but Wantage are without the injured Bradley Shaw and Karl Roberts, who is on holiday.

Didcot Town travel to Evesham United, who are one place above the Railwaymen in the table on goal difference.

Midfielder Josh Dutton-Black is a doubt after he was substituted as a precaution at half-time in Saturday’s 2-2 home draw with Mangotsfield United.
