OXFORD United will not have to worry about Sean Rigg returning to haunt them tomorrow after the AFC Wimbledon winger was hit by a ban.

The 26-year-old was released by Gary Waddock in May after two seasons at United.

But he has been denied a return to the Kassam Stadium after collecting a fifth booking of the season in the Dons’ 3-1 FA Cup replay victory over York City on Tuesday night.

There will be plenty of other former players on show, though, with Dannie Bulman likely to start for the visitors, while United’s ranks included ex-Wombles Danny Hylton, Jon Meades and Michael Collins.

  • Latest United news:

It is a fixture United have always enjoyed, winning all eight of their competitive meetings.

Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley is considering some changes after a hectic fortnight which has seen them play two more games than United due to cup commitments, but is adamant fatigue will not be a factor.

He said: “We’re trying to freshen everyone up so that our team selection is not based on who is physically up to it.

“This will be our fifth game in two weeks and only their third match in the same spell, but we’re not going to use that as an excuse.

“I’m well aware of our record against Oxford and hopefully we can turn that around.

“We’ll go there all guns blazing.”
