DIVISION 1 West basement boys Letcombe sprang a major surpise in the Ulhsport Hellenic League Bluefin Sports Challenge Cup second round with a 1-0 win at Premier Division side Milton United.

A Matt Pill goal straight from kick-off in the second half was defended to the final whistle by Letcombe.

Alfie Saunders hit a hat-trick as North Leigh United, also from Division 1 West, claimed a Premier Division scalp with a 4-2 win at Brimscombe & Thrupp.

He fired North Leigh into a three-goal lead.

Ashley Brown and Sam Blackie pulled goals back for Brimscombe, before George Seacole clinched North Leigh’s victory.

Ardley United coasted to a 6-1 win at home to Chinnor.

Ricky Johnson bagged a first half-brace, Kieran Scott scored in both halves, while Callum Convey delivered a double in the space of six minutes late in the second half, with his second goal a penalty.

Alex Few replied for Chinnor.

Oxford City Nomads came from behind to win 3-1 at Tuffley Rovers.

Jordan Dowdeswell put Tuffley ahead after 50 minutes, but Nomads rallied with John Rixon, Zac McEachran and Rhys Denton their scorers.

Easington Sports bowed out 2-1 at home to Newbury.

Andrew Stidder’s penalty gave Easington a 25th-minute lead, but Matt Pedder levelled for Newbury before the break and Callum Willmoth grabbed their winner 15 minutes from time.

Clanfield went down 3-1 at home to Woodley Town.

Jamie McDonagh fired Clanfield into an 11th-minute lead, but Woodley stormed back after the break with goals from Selin Oduganya, Gary Smith and Steve Campbell.

Asa Povey’s brace proved in vain as Henley Town went out 3-2 at home to Wootton Bassett Town.

Lewis Chatwin, Steve Yardley and Joe Hiscock netted for the visitors.

In the Premier Division, Tommy Castle fired a late double to give second-placed Kidlington a 2-0 home win over Binfield.

The visitors had Garry Calloway sent off after 24 minutes as the last man after fouling Ryan Curtin, but the numbers were evened up after 52 minutes when Kidlington’s Lewis Coyle saw red for a foul.

Castle broke the deadlock with a stunning strike in the 76th minute, and three minutes later he sealed victory from the penalty spot after he had been brought down.

In Division 1 West, Jordan Davies hit a hat-trick in Wantage Town Res’s 5-0 home win over Fairford Town.

George Reid and Henry Dalton were also on target.

Henry Rose’s 80th-minute equaliser gave Hook Norton a 1-1 draw at home to Carterton.

Reece Bayliss had given Carterton a half-time lead.

Sam McDermaid grabbed a last-minute winner in Didcot Town Res’s 4-3 victory at Penn & Tylers Green in Division 1 East.

A Darren Rockall own goal, Dan Brind and Ross MacDonald also netted for Didcot, with Danny Jordan (2) and Anton Bradley replying.

Old Woodstock Town won 2-0 at home to Wokingham & Emmbrook.

Rob Kylock put Woodstock ahead after 14 minutes, and Jack Kennedy sealed victory in the 55th minute.
