NORTH Leigh went goal crazy to record their biggest win in the Southern League since gaining promotion seven seasons ago.

They scored six times in the first half and added a further five after the break to complete an 11-0 demolition job on Bashley in the Southern League Division 1 South & West clash.

A first-half Jamie Cook hat-trick was supported by a further seven teammates getting on the scoresheet.

Just two minutes had gone when Cook triggered the rout, lobbing Bashley keeper Callum Maher from ten yards.

Jon Else notched the second goal ten minutes later, blasting home a shot from close range from a right-wing cross.

Aaron Woodley made it 3-0 on 26 minutes, taking the ball round the keeper to tap home.

Five minutes later, Andy Gunn’s powerful header from a North Leigh corner then proved too strong for Maher to keep out.

Cook scored further goals on 35 and 42 minutes, the first going in via the crossbar and just over the line after he was put clear of the defence, with Morgan Williams following up and burying the ball in the back of the net to make sure.

The second was scored after a great run by Woodley, who beat four defenders before setting up Cook to clip home.

The second half saw no respite for the visitors as Else hammered the ball home from five yards after Maher had palmed away a deep Michael Hopkins left-wing cross on 48 minutes.

A minute later, Elliott Osborne-Ricketts flicked a left-foot shot past the keeper from eight yards.

Brian Bowles made it 9-0 on the hour, clipping in a rebound after Maher had saved a Woodley shot.

Hopkins curled in a delightful free-kick for No 10 after 83 minutes, and Conor Ingram rifled home from ten yards after a good run right on time to seal a memorable result.

North Leigh: Bulman, Hole, Hopkins, Turk (Bowles 55), Gunn, Caton, Else, Osborne-Ricketts, Cook (Ingram 55), Woodley, Williams (Westlake 60).

Attendance: 63.
