New Banbury United manager Mike Ford has appointed former Didcot Town boss Stuart Peace as his assistant.

Ford has also recruited Matt Haycocks and Mike Byrne as coaches.

Peace, who led Didcot to FA Vase glory in 2005 with victory over AFC Sudbury, rejoins Ford after previously serving as his assistant at Oxford City.

“I brought Stuart in for the managerial experience he offers and just trying to eke everything out of the budget we have,” said Ford.

“We don’t have the biggest budget out there, so it’s important that we make the most of it.”

Peace said: “I’ve had a complete year out for the first time in 30 years and it’s been nice.

“But I felt it’s been long enough now.”
