Abingdon United extended their goalless run to three gameswhen they lost 4-0 away to Binfield in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division on Saturday.

In the club's biggest injury crisis for many years, they are left without any recognised strikers.

They held their own for only 11 minutes before Liam Ferdinand tapped in to give Binfield the lead.

Visiting keeper Tom Plumridge made a fabulous save to deny Josh Howell.

Early in the second half, Lewis Leonnetti crashed the ball into the roof of the net to make it 2-0.

Plumridge excelled with great saves from Josh Pearson and Jemel Johnson.

But Johnson could not be denied, as he made it 3-0, and Danny Horscroft added a fourth before the end.

Jamie Essex hit the bar for Abingdon late on.

Letcombe scored a stoppage-time penalty to win 1-0 at home to Easingston Sports in a Division 1 West game they dominated for long periods.

The visiting back four of Elliott Harper, Luke Stone, Chris Brind and Tom Broad had another outstanding game At the other end, Owen Shaw, Luke Faircloth, Adam Claydon and Richie Claydon all had chances to put them ahead.

The only goal came at the death, after Easington’s Ben Milner threw himself in front of the ball, which struck his outstretched hands.

He was sent off and Tom Stone drove the ball home from the resulting penalty.
