DARIUS Browne and Andy Gunn scored in the last 15 minutes to hand Banbury United a 2-0 win over Wimborne Town and stretch their winning run to five games.

The Puritans created the better chances in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West clash, with Duran Martin hitting the bar and Leam Howards having a goal disallowed for offside.

They finally scored when Brown fired home on 75 minutes after Ricky Johnson was denied.

And Gunn headed in on 81 minutes to seal victory.

North Leigh lost ground at the top as they drew 1-1 with Yate Town.

Jon Else gave the Millers a second minute lead, but Yate deservedly equalised on 31 minutes through Brett Trowbridge.

The hosts thought they had retaken the lead moments later, but Kieran Sanders was offside.

And on the stroke of half-time they were denied again as Jamie Cook was judged to have kicked the ball out of Martin Horsell’s hands.

There were few chances in the second half as the Millers were left frustrated.

Stuart Cattell earned his first victory as Wantage Town interim manager as they edged Marlow 1-0.

Aaron Ferris fired the hosts in front on 59 minutes.

Marlow pushed for an equaliser, but Wantage held out.

Didcot Town cruised to a 3-1 victory at Shortwood United.

The Railwaymen took the lead after seven minutes when Adam Learoyd scored from close range.

Kieran Collins and Mark Janes then went close as Didcot ended the half on top.

With 20 minutes to go, Mark Francis made it 2-0, before Shortwood replied through Joe White.

But Graham Edney fired home Didcot’s third on 89 minutes.
