There was good news and bad news for Kidlington ahead of their FA Vase fifth round tie away to Cleethorpes Town tomorrow.

The good news is that six players who have missed games in the past few weeks are all available for the last-16 clash.

Eric Odhiambo, Joel Meade, Jack Quainton, Lewis Coyle, Tom Franklin and Lewis Brownhill are all back, fit and raring to go.

However the bad news is that top striker Ryan Brooks is still sidelined, along with longer-term injuries Mark Flanagan andJames McGowan.

Boss Martin Wilkinson’s side are flying the flag, not just for Oxfordshire, but for the Uhlsport Hellenic League as they try to reach the quarter-finals for the first time.

Ambitious Kidlington, who yesterday announced a £27,500 plan to improve the facilities at Yarnton Road to Southern League standard, are aware the Vase run could affect their Premier Division promotion chances.

Wilkinson said: “Most managers I have spoken to believe that to achieve success in both competitions is impossible, and I respect their views “My view is that we entered both competitions to win them, and if other clubs, it says more about them than us.”

Cleethorpes, fourth in Northern Counties East League, are also chasing a last-eight place for the first time.
