OXFORD City knocked defending champions Banbury United out of the Oxfordshire Senior Cup with a 1-0 victory at Marsh Lane last night.

Kaylem Patterson scored the only goal of the game early in the second half as Justin Merritt’s side booked their place in the last four.

In last night’s other tie, Kidlington won 1-0 at Thame United.

Anaclet Odhiambo’s first-half goal proved the difference between the sides.

In Division 1 South & West of the Evo-Stik Southern League, the derby match between Didcot Town and Wantage Town ended 0-0.

Stuart Cattell’s side will feel they should have taken the points, but Didcot keeper Leigh Bedwell saved a first-half penalty from Wantage’s Sam Collier.

North Leigh lost 3-2 at Marlow, who grabbed an injury-time winner.

Steve Davies and Staurt Hole netted for Mark Gee’s side, but goals from Jordace Holder-Spooner, Jordan Brown and Samuel Bangura, in the second minute of stoppage time, gave the hosts the points.
