NORTH Leigh will be forced to field a debutant goalkeeper when they travel to Barnstaple Town in Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West tomorrow.

The departure of Conor Thompson this week has caused manager John Brough a headache, with on-loan Manny Agboola being recalled by parent club Oxford United for their Emirates FA Cup fifth round trip to Middlesbrough.

It means Brough must source a new stopper before tomorrow.

“It’s not ideal, but I’m talking to Cheltenham Town about the possibility of bringing in a young goalkeeper,” Brough said.

“Due to Manny’s form, Connor has had to wait his turn and it’s been frustrating for him.

“He played a couple of games, but we chose to play Manny last weekend and as a result Connor decided to leave the club.

“It’s a fantastic experience for Manny to go to Middlesbrough, but it leaves me with some work to do.”

Jamie Cook is out with a back injury and Jon Else is suspended, but the Millers have added Declan Benjamin after his departure from Ardley United.

He featured just once for the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division side – last weekend’s 2-1 win over Royal Wootton Bassett Town.

Wantage Town boss Ben Sadler believes his side will be full of confidence when they travel to second-placed Tiverton Town.

Last weekend’s 2-1 win over Barnstaple was Sadler’s first as manager and he believes it has given the whole squad a spring in their step.

“We’ll take loads of confidence into the game,” he said.

“We’re not expected to do anything other than lose, so anything we get will be a bonus.

“It’s a free game for us, there’s no pressure and hopefully we can just go out and be positive.”

Dan Sadler and Mark Burton are unavailable, while Harvey Scholes is sidelined with an ankle injury.

However, Todd Hathaway returns, while Jack Heggie is called up to the squad from Town’s Under 18s.

Didcot Town entertain Bishops Cleeve, looking to end a run of six matches without victory.

Kidlington welcome back Ben Weedon from a hamstring injury as they travel to Chalfont St Peter in Division 1 Central.

However, they are without Tommy Castle (unavailable), Henry Owen (ribs), Kristian Thomas, Chris Weedon and Lewis Gabbidon (all knee).

The Greens are on a three-match winning streak and manager Julian McCalmon is keen to keep it going.

He said: “Winning is a habit and it’s important we develop that habit, keep the wheels turning and pick up as many points as we can.

“We just want to finish the season as strongly as we can.”
