BANBURY United have swooped to recruit experienced pair Jefferson Louis and Tom Winters for next season.

Winger Winters finished the last campaign with the Puritans, making 11 appearances on loan from Oxford City.

He has made the move permanent, alongside former City teammate Louis, for whom Banbury are the 33rd club of his career.

Boss Mike Ford said: “It was evident that one of our failings last season was our lack of goals.

“I watched Jefferson a number of times last season and as well as getting us goals his experience and knowhow will be of great help to our younger players.

“I’m delighted he has agreed to join us and am looking forward to working with him.”

Ford added: “It was clear from (Tom’s) body language and performances that he enjoyed his time with us and I am very pleased that he has decided to make the move to us on a permanent basis.”

Ricky Johnson and George Nash have committed to stay on, but Mark Bell and Eddie Odhiambo have been released, while the club believe it is unlikely Callum White will stay.
