OXFORD City extended their unbeaten run and moved out the relegation zone after a 0-0 draw at Bognor Regis Town last night.

Mark Jones’s side, who have now not lost for five matches, had marginally the better chances but were unable to find a goal in the Vanarama National League South clash.

Matt Paterson almost broke the deadlock in the first half, but his shot in the 16th minute from a Freddie Grant cross struck a post.

Ibra Sekajja went close three times for the hosts after the break, twice firing narrowly wide with City keeper Jack Stevens comfortably saving his other effort.

The visitors pushed forward in a bid to snatch a late winner, but were unable to find a breakthrough.

Oxford City: Stevens, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Grant, Fofana, Navarro, Oastler, Hirst (Forde 63), Poku, Paterson, McEachran, Pearce (Fleet HT). Subs not used: Jones, Tutton.

Leam Howards scored a late equaliser as Banbury United drew 2-2 at home to high-flying Slough Town in their Evo-Stik South League Premier Division clash.

The second-placed visitors took the lead in the sixth minute when James Dobson scored at the second attempt after a cross from Chris Flood.

But Mike Ford’s side drew level when Elliot Sandy latched on to a Jack Finch through ball to chip the keeper.

Flood looked like he could have won it for the visitors with a fine header 13 minutes from time.

But with three minutes to go, a poor back pass by Nathan Smart was intercepted by substitute Howards, who took the ball around Jack Turner to find the net and earn his side a share of the spoils.
