CHRISTIAN Oxlade-Chamberlain believes Oxford City’s Emirates FA Cup second round tie at Notts County is a chance to grab the headlines for himself, writes JAMES ROBERTS.

The 19-year-old is the younger brother of Liverpool and England midfielder Alex, a three-time winner of the competition.

The presence of the BT Sport cameras at Meadow Lane tomorrow represents an opportunity to step out of his older sibling’s shadow.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is eager to take full advantage – and is already dreaming of a mouth-watering third-round clash.

He said: “It’s a big chance to get my name out there.

“I try to impress in every game, but it’s the FA Cup live on TV so there will be more people watching.

“Every game’s big but this would be my most high-profile.”

The right back has not featured in City’s cup run so far, with parent club Portsmouth not allowing him to play in the qualifying rounds.

Recalled by the south coast side due to an injury crisis, Oxlade-Chamberlain was loaned back to City days after their first-round win at Colchester.

Despite the teenager’s lack of experience in the competition, he is certainly aware of the magic of the Cup.

He said: “There is definitely the feeling that anything can happen.

“If you start thinking ‘they’re second in League Two and it’s on TV’, you’ll get distracted.

“I might get a little bit nervous in the tunnel, but there has to come a point where you switch off that side of your brain and just start running.

“They might not turn up and we could nick it, and then we’re into the third round.”

The players travel up to Nottingham today and will enjoy a rare overnight stay before the lunchtime kick-off.

If they pull off another sensational victory, there is one tie that the defender would relish above any other.

“It would have to be Liverpool at Anfield, wouldn’t it? Because of my brother,” he said.

“There would be a lot of teasing

going on in the build-up. I’d make sure I kick him a few times on the pitch.

“It would be good to experience playing in front of 50-60,000 with everyone singing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.

“I watch big matches every week and they are something I’ve always wanted to be part of.”
