KIDLINGTON conceded a stoppage-time penalty as they were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw at home to play-off chasing Swindon Supermarine last night.
The Greens were in Evo-Stik South League action just hours after announcing manager Julian McCalmon would be stepping down at the end of the season.
And they looked to be heading for victory in the West Division encounter thanks to Conor McDonagh’s 53rd minute header.
But Bradley Hooper’s 91st minute penalty extended Kidlington’s winless run to three games.
Supermarine went closest to opening the scoring in the first half when Michael Hopkins hit the bar on 14 minutes.
McDonagh then forced Josh Hill into a smart save at the other end in a goalless first half.
But the striker was not to be denied for long as he found himself unmarked on 53 minutes to head home at the back post.
Callum Parsons nodded over from close range with nine minutes remaining as the visitors pushed for an equaliser.
However, they went on to win a penalty in the first minute of stoppage time, Hooper calmly sending Sam Worrell the wrong way from the spot.
Supermarine could have snatched victory at the death, but Bradley Gray headed over.
North Leigh fell to a 2-0 defeat at Bideford.
Ryan Turner put the hosts ahead on 20 minutes, smashing home after the Millers had made several blocks in the area.
Bideford made the points safe with ten minutes to go when Kevin Squire netted.
