FOOTBALL: Derbies to bring season to close

NEXT season’s Zamaretto Southern League season is set for a thrilling conclusion when it ends on Easter Monday.

The three Oxfordshire sides in the Premier Division will each play their nearest rivals on the final day of the season – Monday, April 25.

Didcot Town will entertain Oxford City, while Banbury must travel to Brackley Town.

The fixtures are the reverse of those on December 27.

The other Oxfordshire derbies see City travel to Banbury on Saturday, October 23, with the return match at Court Place Farm on Saturday April 16 – nine days before the end of the season.

Didcot host Banbury on Saturday, September 4, with the Puritans at home on Saturday, Januray 15.

City will start with a home game against Bedford on Saturday, August 14 – Didcot entertain Evesham on the same day, with Banbury travelling to Cirencester Town.

With the one nightmare trip Truro away, City will be delighted that they have been handed their away match on Saturday, August 28.

Didcot make the long trip on Saturday, March 19, with Banbury heading to Cornwall on Saturday, October 2.

In Division 1 South & West, Abingdon United and North Leigh will face each other in the second game of the season.

Abingdon open with a trip to Bridgwater, with North Leigh at home to Taunton.

The duo then meet at Northcourt Road on Tuesday, August 17.

The reverse derby clash is at Eynsham Park on Saturday, December 11.
