Banbury United manager Ady Fuller got the response he was looking for, after three successive Premier Division defeats in the Evo-Stik Southern League, with a rampant 4-1 win at Spencer Stadium, which featured a brace from Ricky Johnson.
The hosts took the lead in the fifth minute, when Danny Edmond turned and fired a low shot past Stourbridge keeper Lewis Solly after good work by Ben Polk and Johnson.
Stourbridge equalised when a speculative John Griffin shot came back off a post, and Sam Rock stabbed in the rebound.
Banbury regained the lead in the 38th minute with a spectacular 20-yard volley from Johnson.
Eight minutes after the break, Josh Blake nodded home to make it 3-1.
Solly saved brilliantly from Johnson and Blake, but was beaten again in injury time.
The keeper got his hand to Ryan Howell’s header, but Johnson smashed in the rebound from ten yards.
Banbury Utd: Kemp, Coleman, Polk (Kinch 51), Dolman, Chilton, Howell, Williams, Cole, Johnson (Angus 90+3), Blake (Fraser 79), Edmond. Subs not used: Thackeray, Richardson.
Attendance: 314.
