FOOTBALL: City fall to first-half strikes

TWO first-half goals sent Oxford City slipping to a 2-1 defeat away to Hitchin Town in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
Mike Ford’s side, who will play in Blue Square Bet North this season, conceded goals from Hitchin’s Zak Burke and Callum Donnelly in the 12th and 27th minutes respectively.
In the seciond half, City upped their game considerably against their Ryman League opponents and dominated the play.
They pulled a goal back on 69 minutes through a header from Andy Ballard.
Although creating several chances they were unable to secure the draw whuch their performance deserved.
