OXFORD United boss Les Taylor hopes to end their FA Women’s Super League 2 campaign on a positive note at home to title-chasing Bristol City.
The visitors, who have already sealed promotion back to WSL 1, could be crowned champions tomorrow, but Taylor is keen to spoil the party.
He said: “We want to finish the season on a high and what better way to do that than by getting a result against one of the top two teams in the division.
“We have a chance to affect the title race and we want to stop Bristol winning the trophy.
“They will bring a big crowd with them and hopefully our fans will turn up as they always do and it can be a really good atmosphere.”
This weekend will bring to a close what has been a frustrating season for Taylor, in which the U’s have recorded just four victories.
However, he feels the experience gained will prove invaluable for his squad in the future.
“It’s been a very young group this year, but we have some very good players emerging at the club,” Taylor added.
“Of all the clubs in the WSL we probably give more debuts to young players than anybody and it’s great for them to have that opportunity.
“Results have been a little bit disappointing, but the experience they’ve gained this year will stand them in very good stead for the future.”
The unavailable Lauren Allison is United’s only absentee.
TOMORROW’S SQUAD
Oxford Utd (v Bristol City, home): from Lambourne, Frampton, Lee, Haynes, Lane, Casley, Umotong, Franklin-Fraiture, Cox, Weston, Noble, Baker, Timms, Deeley, Nutman, Hakala.
