Thame United ran out 4-0 winners over Ardley United at the ASM Stadium, and in the process leapfrogged their visitors into sixth place in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division.

The hosts took the lead after 18 minutes in bizarre fashion when Harry Brock whipped the ball off Conor McDonagh, but only succeeded in lobbing it over keeper Jack Harding for an own goal.

Captain Adam Morris increased Thame’s lead in the 29th minute with a 20-yard shot, which beat Harding at his near post.

Thame went further ahead on 65 minutes when McDonagh fired home a penalty after he was brought down.

Dan West completed Thame’s scoring spree – and with it a season’s double over Ardley – when he headed home a minute from time.
