BANBURY United’s longest-serving player Ollie Stanbridge is leaving the club.

Since joining the Evo-Stik Southern League club in 2002, the midfielder has clocked up more than 500 appearances, a feat that was recognised with an honour at the end-of-season awards.

Two players are joining Banbury, who secured promotion to the Premier Division last season.

One is a former Puritan midfielder Declan Benjamin who has spent the last five seasons with Oxford City.

The other is midfielder Jack Self who has moved from Didcot Town having previously been with Oxford City.

Ford said: “I needed quality players who would be able to fit in with the way we like to play, but I also need players who are committed and enthusiastic.

“Last season I was lucky enough to have almost a full squad at every training session and that’s the sort of commitment I expect.”

It was thought former Oxford United player Aaron Woodley would be signing for Banbury, but he has decided to stay with North Leigh.
