NORTH Leigh boss John Brough is eyeing another Buildbase FA Trophy scalp tomorrow as his side host former champions Kingstonian in the third qualifying round.

The Millers have already disposed of one Ryman League Premier Division side, beating Folkestone Invicta 2-0 in the previous round.

Brough’s side also knocked Folkestone and Vanarama National League South side Weston-Super-Mare out of the Emirates FA Cup.

And the manager believes his side’s form against higher-league opposition gives them a psychological advantage.

“It certainly gives us belief that we can beat sides from the level above,” said Brough.

“But you can’t necessarily compare Folkestone and Kingstonian.

“They’re only a few points apart in the league, but they’re two different sides.

“We know we’ll need to be at our best again and hopefully we can carry on our form of recent weeks.”

The Millers are on a three-match winning streak and Brough is confident the visitors will be wary.

“I’m sure Kingstonian will be warning their players not to take us lightly,” he said.

“They don’t want to be victims of an upset, so I’m sure they’ll treat us with respect and will prepare their players to come and win the game.

“It’s our job to make sure that doesn’t happen.”

While the visitors have lifted the Trophy on two previous occasions – in 1999 and 2000 – victory this weekend would put North Leigh into the first round of the competition for the first time in their history.

And Brough is hopeful that his side have won a few new admirers after reaching the furthest point in the club’s history in both the Trophy and the Emirates FA Cup.

He said: “It’s well known that we don’t get the biggest crowds for our league fixtures.

“But cup games are always an opportunity to get a few more people down.

“We’re playing some good football, so hopefully anyone who comes down will like what they see.”

The Millers are without the cup-tied Matt Sysum and Bradley Gray this weekend, while Morgan Williams is sidelined by a knee injury.
