SAM Elkins struck an injury-time equaliser to earn Didcot Town a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw at home to second-placed Tiverton Town.

The defender, who also scored last Monday to claim a share of the spoils against North Leigh, fired home in the 91st minute.

Didcot had led 2-0 in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West clash, but looked to be heading for defeat when Tom Bath made it 3-2 to Tiverton with six minutes to go.

However, Elkins late goal saw the hosts stretch their unbeaten run to four games.

Didcot’s opener came on 26 minutes when a cross was handled in the penalty area and Ben Whitehead stepped up to send goalkeeper Joe Perry the wrong way from the spot.

Four minutes later it was 2-0 as Perry brought down Taylor Janes in the area and top-scorer Whitehead netted again for his 20th of the season.

However, two goals in the space of three minutes saw the sides go into half-time level as Bath scored at the second attempt after his initial shot was saved, before Jamie Price equalised with a free-kick.

Both sides pressed for a winner and Tiverton looked to have won it in the 84th minute, when Bath fired past goalkeeper Leigh Bedwell.

But Didcot were not to be denied and Elkins equalised in the first minute of injury time.

Didcot Tn: Bedwell, Elkins, Organ, Ballard, Cattell, Learoyd, Barder, McNish, Whitehead, Thorne (Benjamin 65), Janes. Subs not used: Thomas, Tatford, Powell.

George Seacole’s brace saw ten-man North Leigh beat Salisbury City 2-1.

The Millers top-scorer made it five goals against the Wiltshire side this season, having hit a hat-trick in the corresponding fixture back in October.

Manager John Brough handed a debut to Jordan Lymn, who joined on a month’s loan from Cheltenham Town on Friday.

The Millers fell behind on six minutes, when Justin Bennett emphatically fired past Millers goalkeeper Manny Agboola.

The hosts had their tails up and Thomas Whelan hit the bar, before Eddie Perrett forced a save from Agboola.

North Leigh grew into the game and Salisbury keeper Alexander Bass tipped Stuart Hole’s 27th-minute free-kick over the bar.

Bass then denied Bradley Gray as the Millers trailed at half-time.

The visitors started the second half strongly, but the breakthrough did not come until the 71st minute, when they capitalised on a Bass error.

His poor kick fell to Seacole who, from more than 35 yards, passed the ball into the net with the goalkeeper trying in vain to get back.

The second arrived eight minutes later as Seacole raced forward and clipped the ball past Bass from 12 yards.

Matt Sysum was sent off for North Leigh on 88 minutes for a foul on the edge of the area, but they held on.

North Leigh: Agboola, Else, Hopkins, Turk, Hole, Sysum, Gray, L Williams, Seacole, Cook (M Williams 31), Lymn. Subs not used: D James, R James, Platt, Thompson.

Attendance: 738.

Todd Hathaway fired the Alfredians into an eighth-minute lead, but Kye Mountford equalised for the hosts.

Yate had Mayson Evans sent off for a second booking, but Wantage had to settle for a point.

In Division 1 Central, Kidlington fell to a 6-1 defeat at Fleet Town.

Josh Francis and Ben White put the hosts 2-0 up inside 12 minutes.

Lewis Coyle replied, but White, Zak Hawker, Danilo Cadet and Pat Cox won it for Fleet.

IN the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier Division, Nathaniel Lewars (2) and Leam Howards scored as Ardley United won 3-0 at Binfield.

Tom Rowe’s late header saw Letcombe beat Tytherington Rocks 2-1 in Division 1 West.

Luke Faircloth had earlier cancelled out Luke Whittam’s opener for Rocks.
