OXFORD City made it two pre-season wins in a row when beating an Armed Forces XI 2-0 at Court Place Farm on Tuesday night.

Following Saturday’s 4-3 success against Sheffield Under 23s, City took the lead against the Forces after just two minutes, when Horatio Hirst was fouled in the box and Matt Paterson stepped up to score from the spot.

They were unable to extend their lead until after the break, when Guri Demuria flicked on David Pearce’s cross and Christian Navarro headed home.

The hosts were awarded another penalty with 13 minutes to go, Ezra Forde fouled this time, but Paterson saw hit effort saved.

Banbury United convincingly beat Rugby Town 5-0 away on Tuesday.

Strikes from Sam Humphreys (2), Tom Winters, Jack McKnight and an own goal helped them to victory.

North Leigh drew 3-3 in their friendly with with Cheltenham Town’s academy.

Didcot Town triumphed 4-0 against local rivals Milton United, George Jeacock scoring twice.

Their other goals came from Sam Barder and Matt Woodley.

Mark Bell scored a double as Kidlington romped to a 5-0 success at home to Wantage Town.

Anaclet Odhiambo, Lewis Gabbidon and Lewis Coyle netted the others.

Ardley United gained a 4-2 victory over Thame Rangers, with Alex Feaver, Mason Courtney, Smith and Gillett on target.

Abingdon United lost 2-0 away to Amesbury.
