KIDLINGTON will kick off their maiden Southern League season in Division 1 Central in August. The Greens stormed to the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division title to earn promotion. But they will be kept apart from Oxfordshire neighbours North Leigh, Didcot Town and Wantage Town, who remain in Division 1 South & West. l THE Oxford Road ground is not a suitable venue for Bicester Town due to the cost required to bring it up to Hellenic League standard, according to landlords Bicester Sports Association. Bicester had hoped to return to their former home, which would enable them to accept promotion to the Premier But, as reported in yesterday’s Oxford Mail, Bicester had to turn down promotion after failing to reach an agreement with BSA. “The facilities at Oxford Road would need significant expenditure in order to reach Hellenic League standards,” said BSA secretary Len Payne. “The BSA does not have the funds available to undertake this work.”
