Chris and Andy Allum were both on target as Wallingford Athletic bounced back from their surprise loss at East Hendred to come from behind and beat Faingdon Town in North Berks League Division 1, writes ANDY WELLS.

Faringdon took the lead from a deflected Lee Ruddle free-kick in the first half, but Wallingford hit back immediately through Andy Allum.

Despite a lengthy period of home dominance from Wallingford, Ruddle spurned the chance to put Town back in front just before the break by missing a penalty.

In the second half, Wallingford struck twice in a ten-minute spell through Chris Allum and James Ham to lead 3-1.

David Legg scored a cracking free-kick to get a goal back, but Faringdon could not force an equaliser.

Lambourn Sports moved into second place, despite being held to a 1-1 draw at home by Blewbury. Micky Durkin scored for Lambourn, with Simon Smith replying for the visitors.

In Division 3, Phil Hedges was the hero for Crowmarsh Gifford as they inflicted Kingsclere's first league defeat of the season.

Hedges hit a hat-trick as Crowmarsh won 3-2 to go second in the table.
