BANBURY United went top of the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division after a 4-0 victory over Kings Lynn Town.

Mike Ford’s side made it three wins out of three with a commanding display.

Banbury went ahead after just three minutes when Mark Bell cut inside and fired past Alex Street.

It was 2-0 in the 12th minute when Barcelos shot home from a narrow angle.

Banbury continued to press and scored No 3 five minutes later through Duran Martin.

Zac McEachran then played in Barcelos, who made no mistake to score his second.

Banbury controlled the game comfortably enough for most of the second half.

Bell scraped the outside of a post as Banbury looked for a fifth, but it didn’t matter as their first-half display ensured the points were safe.

North Leigh lost their 100 per cent record after falling to a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of AFC Totton in Division 1 South & West.

The hosts almost snatched a point after trailing 3-0 after 89 minutes, but John Brough’s side left it too late.

North Leigh fell behind in the eighth minute when Dave Allen scored from the spot

The Millers started the second half brightly, but on 50 minutes went 2-0 down as Pat Wilson headed home.

North Leigh pushed forward, but conceded a third when Allen fired in.

Callum McNish reduced the deficit in the 89th minute, before Roger James set up a grandstand finale.

But they ran out of time.

Didcot Town’s winless start continued with a 2-0 defeat at Paulton Rovers.

It was a nightmare start for the visitors when keeper Leigh Bedwell conceded a second-minute penalty, which Jordan Ricketts converted.

Paulton doubled their lead when Nathan Legge curled home from outside the area.

Wantage Town fell to a 3-1 defeat at Bideford.

Mark Francis missed an early penalty for the Freds, before Matt Andrew struck twice for the hosts.

Boyan Thorpe reduced the deficit, but Kevin Squire sealed the win.

Kidlington suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Farnborough in Division 1 Central.

Denis Oli opened the scoring on ten minutes.

CJ Fearn headed home in the 73rd minute to make it 2-0.

And it was all over when skipper Tommy Franklin was adjudged to have handled and Eddie Smith fired home from the spot.
