SEAN Flaherty bagged a brace as Hinksey took a giant stride towards landing the Oxfordshire Senior League Premier Division crown with a 3-0 victory over title rivals Garsington.

Although Hinksey went into the game nine points clear of Garsington at the head of the table, their opponents had three games in hand.

But Flaherty’s double means that Hinksey are now firm favourites.

After a goalless first half, Flaherty fired his side ahead, and Marlon James doubled the lead shortly after.

Although Garsington tried to get back into the game, Flaherty’s second made the result safe.

To compound their woes, Colin Ryan was sent off for Garsington.

Cameron Knight hit a hat-trick as Mansfield Road defeated Freeland 5-0.

Dan Trinder and Roger Gill completed the rout.

Adie Way smashed a hat-trick as Adderbury beat Marston 3-0.

Way fired his side into a first-half lead, doubled the tally on the hour mark and completed a superb treble with a 35-yard lob.

Nick Giles scored twice as Kennington beat Bletchingdon 4-1.

Rob Andrew and Rob Cattell also netted, with Ryan Curtin’s strike proving in vain.

In Division 1, Crei Saunders scored both goals as Watlington defeated Yarnton 2-1.

Adam Browning netted for the hosts.

First-half goals from Dale Manuel and Thomas Gaughan gave Oxford Irish a 2-0 victory over Chadlington.

Broughton & North Newington bounced back from two heavy defeats with a 4-0 success over Charlton.

Alec Hale, Sam Grant, Steve Norman and Laurence Caro were on target.

DAN Smith hit a hat-trick as Garsington Res beat Enstone Res 5-1 in Division 2.

Zak Larford and John Eggleton were also on target, with Paul Canning replying.

Ian Roberts, Gareth Davies, Aron Howlett and Danny Evans netted as Bletchingdon Res beat Eynsham Res 4-0.

Adderbury Park Res saw off Slade Farm Res 5-2, with John Umney (2), Junior Howards, Karl Foster and Toby Hone on target.

Kevin Peake and Kieran Chambers replied.

Charlton Res and Broughton & North Newington Res shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

Tom Sullivan and Arron Ainsworth scored for Charlton, with John Trower and Garry Beedom netted inside the final five minutes to rescue a draw.

Freeland Res beat Kidlington Old Boys Res 4-2.

Jefferson Harriot (2), Tom Scroggs and Tom McCudden scored, with Joey Beauchamp and Paul Weller replying.

Meanwhile, A last-minute goal from Nick Clarke gave Stonesfield a 2-1 victory over OUP in the Charity Cup.

Michael Phipps put Stonesfield ahead, and although Matthew Spooner equalised, Clarke’s last-gasp strike sealed it.
