MANAGER Les Taylor believes there were plenty of positives, despite seeing Oxford United Women fall to a fourth straight defeat at Yeovil Town Women.

The U’s went down 2-0 in FA Women’s Super League 2, both goals coming late in the game.

Although it leaves United without a point this season, Taylor was upbeat.

“We knew we’d be up against it,” said Taylor.

“For most of the game we defended really well, but we put ourselves under so much pressure that eventually that pressure was going to tell.

“But in the first half we probably had the best two chances and the organisation was good. There are plenty of positives to take.”

Oxford’s Ella Franklin-Fraiture had the first chance on 19 minutes, but saw her shot saved.

Sarah Wiltshire went close for the hosts, hitting a post, before Franklin-Fraiture fired over.

Oxford keeper Hannah Cox denied Ellis Hillman and then did well to keep out Natasha Knapman’s effort.

The home side finally broke through a resilient Oxford backline on 73 minutes, as Nicola Cousins powered home a corner from Wiltshire to score her second goal of the season.

Substitute Nadia Lawrence then hit the post for Yeovil with ten minutes to go, before Annie Heatherson added a second deep in injury time, when

she turned home a cross from Wiltshire.
