DEMAND for places to play at the Buildbase Open means 100 professionals are on the reserve list for this week’s event at Frilford Heath.
The club successfully hosted last year’s event and a bumper field of 168 players will again compete to claim a share of the £50,000 prize fund.
The three-day event on the PGA EuroPro Tour begins on Wednesday and will see a cut after 36 holes down to the top 60 and ties.
Frilford’s Robert Harrhy and Elliot Bradley will be looking to make the most of home advantage, while further local interest is provided by Adam Wootton (Oxford Golf Centre) and Tadmarton Heath’s Liam Robinson.
The final round will be filmed by Sky Sports for a highlights package to be broadcast later this month.
- George Craik, 19, and Frilford’s PGA professional Derek Craik, 45, progressed to the Lombard Trophy regional final after winning the club’s qualifier with a nett 66.
They are one step from the final, held at Gleneagles.
