ANDREW Greaves came out on top in a closely-fought Tournament of Champions at North Oxford.

The format saw the players with the six best medal scores into the final, with one member eliminated at each hole.

Greaves, John Thorne, Paul Barrow and Jack Masih qualified with a nett 67, while the elite group was completed by Sharaz Rana (68) and Robbie Nicholson (69).

After playing the eighth, ninth, tenth and 14th holes, it came down to Greaves versus Barrow.

They moved on to the seventh, where Greaves held his nerve to take the title by a single shot.
