ABINGDON golfer Eddie Pepperell shot a superb closing round of 64 to finish tied fifth in the KLM Open in Holland.
The Frilford Heath member started the final day six shots off the lead, but soon started to charge up the leaderboard.
Pepperell was six-under for the day after 13 holes, and looked to have an outside chance of challenging for victory.
But he could only par the final five holes as Thomas Pieters took glory on 19 under par, three ahead of Pepperell.
However, the Oxfordshire ace picked up just over £50,000 for his efforts in the Netherlands.
