EDDIE Pepperell lost ground with a level-par 72 in the second round of golf's season-ending Dubai World Championship.

The Frilford Heath player slipped 16 places to joint 44th in the 60-strong field on 143 and now trails leader England’s Andy Sullivan by 11 shots.

Although Pepperell birdied the sixth and tenth holes for the second successive round and had two more birdies, these were offset by four bogeys.

Rory McIlroy, seeking to head the European PGA Tour money list, is just four off the lead after a second successive 68 and leads main money-title rival Danny Willett by two strokes.
