EDDIE Pepperell wasted a good start to his second round as his poor run of form continued in the Italian Open.
The Abingdon golfer played just five holes yesterday after weather disrupted the opening round.
Today, Pepperell recovered from two over with late birdies seeing him end his first round on level par.
He then got off to a flying start in a rain-affected second round with birdies on his opening two holes.
But he then went bogey-bogey-double bogey on the sixth, seventh and eighth holes to undo his good work.
Further bogeys on the 12th and 14th left him four over after 16 when play was suspended for the day after more rain.
It means Pepperell is set to miss his eighth cut in the last 11 events he has played.
