EDDIE Pepperell stumbled late in his third round to slip back in the Turkish Airlines Open.

The Abingdon golfer bogeyed the 17th and 18th holes to card a level-par round of 71 and stay on ten-under for the European Tour event.

It saw him fall back to four shots off the pace, set by Shane Lowry and Kiradech Aphibarnrat, heading into Sunday's final round.

Pepperell began the third round in second place after successive rounds of 66.

A run of eight pars was followed by a birdie at the ninth hole to keep him in the leading pack.

The back nine was similarly steady and the 26-year-old picked up another birdie at the 16th to get within two shots of the lead.

But bogeys on the closing two holes left the Frilford Heath member in a share of seventh place ahead of Sunday's finale.
