Norman Goldsworthy, who has been a member for only four years, is the new men’s captain at North Oxford.

The ten-handicapper, who used to play at Burford, hit his inaugural drive 217 yards.

The new lady captain, Margaret Eynon arrived in full ski-wear and hit a drive of 136 yards down the middle.

New junior captain Dan Willoughby followed up with a magnificent drive of 256 yards.

Kirtlington have also held their captains’ drive-ins, where Dave Bartlett (men), Julie Hodges (ladies) – dressed as Santa Claus – Gerry Shaw (seniors) and Ollie Chapman (juniors) drove into office.
