Frilford Heath’s new captain, Chris Allen, started his year in office with a bang.

Just before the 61-year-old 13-handicapper, from Abingdon, drove into his office, he was distracted as his grandson Finley, ten, put an exploding ball on the tee.

Photographer Steve Wheeler captured the result of the impact on a day when many members came out to support their new captain.
