GOLF: Burford are now up to the Mark

Burford have become one of the latest clubs in Berks, Bucks and Oxon to receive the GolfMark.
This is awarded to clubs who meet standards of operation, particularly with regard to the development and care of juniors.
Robin Thompson, Burford’s secretary/manager, received the accolade on the club’s behalf from Richard Flint, development manager of England Golf at the BB&O Golf Partnership’s awards night at Harleyford GC, near Marlow.
Frilford Heath’s Annie Gowing was also honoured for her work with Oxfordshire women’s golf.
BRIAN England bagged the third hole-in-one of his career – and his second at North Oxford this year – when he aced the 129-yard 11th hole with a seven iron in the Saturday roll-up.
