GOLF: Frilford bounce back to winning ways

FRILFORD Heath returned to winning ways at Burford in Section 1 of the Shaw Gibbs Oxfordshire Foursomes League.

The closely-fought match saw Frilford recover from their defeat by Drayton Park with a 2½-½ win to go top.

In the opening match, Ashley Walton and Jon Rusk halved with Burford's in-form pairing of Dave Summers and Donny Henderson-Sowerby.

The other ties narrowly went Frilford's way, with Joe Richardson and Elliott Bradley winning 3 & 2, and David Miller & Gordon Neilson edging in by a single hole.

Tadmarton Heath continued to set the pace in Section 2 with a 3-0 win at Chiltern Forest, the biggest success coming from Andrew Mason and Chris Lowe, who triumphed 7 & 5.

Bicester lost 3-0 at home to Hadden Hill, but could easily have come out on top.

In the first match, Hadden Hill's Ross Boffin and Dylan Polley beat Wayne Dobbins and Gavin Harvey by a single hole, while Steve Hollick and Mick Partridge also won on the 18th green against Jonathan Davies and John Rees.
