Silverstone announced today that ticket sales for this year’s British Grand Prix have got off to a flying start.
About three-quarters of tickets have already been purchased - up 10 per cent on the same period last year.
Several grandstands have already sold out for this summer’s British Grand Prix, including all ‘silver’ category grandstands and the majority of ‘platinum’ category grandstands.
Richard Phillips, managing director of Silverstone Circuits Limited, said he was already considering increasing capacity at one of the biggest sporting events on the UK sporting calendar He said: “The 2012 F1 season has been one of the most eagerly anticipated in years, with six World Champions on the grid and closer racing expected throughout the field.
"That anticipation has been reflected by the interest in this year’s British Grand Prix – ticket sales are up 10% on this time last year and several grandstands have sold out before the season has even started.
“While there are plenty of tickets still available, we would advise fans wanting a choice of grandstands to book soon.”
Tickets for the 2012 event are on sale 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Visit www.silverstone.co.uk or call 0844 3728 300.
